Cale sat with Bryan while he played video game one night this week. Well, Cale decided he wanted to play too. He was trying to grab the controller, but Daddy's hands kept getting in the way!

The fair
Bryan and I made our annual trip to the fair on Tuesday. This was while Cale was sick so he stayed at home with Aunt Valerie. We met up with Jason, Jenny, and Brody so that we could visit and watch Brody ride the rides. That was fun in itself, but Jason and I thought we would be brave and ride a few ourselves. Neither of us are afraid to ride, we were just a little leery of the rides that are put together in a matter of hours. Well, we didn't let that stop us and we rode a few. It was so much fun. We laughed so hard! I haven't had that much fun in a while :)
The next day I woke up SICK!!! Cale's cold had finally caught up with me. By Sunday, I was feeling much better and so was Cale. So we decided to take him to the fair that afternoon. This time we met up with my mom (Nana) and Jessica and Caleb (our family that lives in Japan who were here for a visit). It was fun watching Caleb on all the rides and laughing at Jessica. She doesn't do rides that go in circles, but had to ride the spinning apples with Caleb. It was quite a show!
Here are a few pictures of us that day at the fair. It was beautiful weather and I am glad we went.

Sick boy...
I know it has been a while....
I know that I haven't posted anything lately, but I have a good reason! First Cale was sick. Then I got it too! Poor Bryan :( He did a great job of taking care of us though. Now we are both well again so I thought I would try to play a little catch up while Cale naps.
These are Cale and his new toy. He is finally holding on to things! So here he is with his rattle. He likes to shake it, but it hasnt made its way to the mouth....yet!

Family Germs....
I am proud to say that Cale is doing better! He is not well yet, but he is on his way. With taking care of my little man, I have some how caught the wonderful cold that he has. I started feeling it coming on Sunday, but me and my wishful thinking thought that it would go away....yeah right! So now I have a stuffy nose and a wonderful cough, but unlike Cale, I have to keep going. I still have to go to work everyday and take care of him and Bryan, cook dinner, keep the house in order, and keep the laundry clean. The joys of motherhood....but you know I wouldnt trade it for the world!

A looooong night!
Last night was a long one! Because Cale is sick and so stopped up, he has to sleep propped up to help him breathe.
We started out like this.....Me and Cale (in his boppy) in our bed and Bryan on the couch. I was awake every time Cale would cough (which was sometimes every 5-10 minutes). About 3:00 we were up because Cale couldn't breathe.
So we went to the couch with Bryan so that he could hold Cale while I used the sucker to get some snot out...and boy did I get some! No wonder he couldn't breathe. Poor guy! That was just enough to make him mad. When he would try to cry he would start coughing and then get choked because he was coughing up flim but he doesn't know what to do with it, so I had to suck that out too. After that whole ordeal and a clean diaper he fell back asleep.
Since I had gotten zero sleep up to that point, we put Cale in his bouncy seat beside the couch with Bryan and I went back to bed. Then around 7ish Cale was up to eat and Bryan and I switched places. I let him go to bed to get some sleep and I stayed on the couch. I was able to get about another hour or so of sleep, but then I was up.
So I thought since I was up I would be sweet and cook breakfast. Bryan had said he was going to go to church so I thought I would have it ready in time for him to eat before he left. I was close to having it done on time, but it really didn't matter. Breakfast has been ready for about and hour and a half and Bryan is still in bed! I woke him to tell him I cooked and it was ready if he wanted to eat, but I guess he didn't. So much for being a sweet and thoughtful wife!
Cale is still stopped up but is not coughing as much in his sleep, so maybe he is getting a little better. Hopefully tonight wont be so bad since Bryan and I both have work tomorrow....at least it is planning day so there wont be any kids!

Yep he's sick
Took Cale to the doctor this morning and not only does he have a nasty cold but he also has an ear infection! Poor guy. Doctor just says to watch his cold and it should run its course in the next 7-10 days. She gave us some medicine for his ear and showed us some signs to watch for with his cold and his breathing and if we notice them we have to take him back in. If his cold gets better then we just have to go back in 2 weeks to follow up on his ear. Wish us luck!
Oh yeah.....he gained a whole pound since his 2 month check up just 2 weeks ago! We are up to 14-8!

Sick baby
Well I think that Cale is officially sick! This is the first time that I have had to take care of my own sick child. He is so pitiful! He started coughing yesterday and it has only gotten worse from there. I called the doctor, but he is not running a fever so they don't really think it is necessary to bring him in. I am just going to watch him carefully and if it gets too bad then I will call again. She told me that if I still was worried about him in the morning to call her back and she would try and fit me in. Thank goodness for Saturday appointments!!!

Football time
Cale and I made it to another of Bryan's football game last night. This time I was flying solo. He really surprised me at how well he did. He sat in his carrier ALL night just watching. The only time I got him out was to burp him after his bottle and then I put him right back in. He smiled and talked off and on the whole game. He took about a 20-30 minute nap after half time, but was awake the rest of the time. I hope he continues to do this well!
I took a few pictures, but I forgot my camera, so these are off of my phone....that is why the quality is not so great.
"So Cute its scary"....thank you Nana for my outfit :)
He watched all the people around us...that is why he is not looking at me. They were way more interesting to him!

St Augustine
Our friends, Chad and Heather, came down this weekend from Tenneessee. Saturday we mostly just lounged around the house while they recovered from their drive down.
For dinner we went to Salt Water Cowboys, a great seafood place that is off the main drag. Cale enjoyed it so much, he had to take a nap....
We decided to take a trip down to St Augustine on Sunday afternoon. We made a few stops of the way (the Town Center for Old Navy's $14.92 sale (I got a pair of Jeans) and the outlets for a Carter's coupon!) but we finally made it to St Augustine. We thought about going to Ripley's Believe it or Not....but they wanted $15 per person!!! No thank you!!!
So we parked at the Fort for 50 cent and walked down St George Street. We went through a few shops, but mostly just enjoyed the nice weather and company (along with some chocolate icecream....yummo!). It was slightly overcast, which kept it from being too hot, and there was a great breeze blowing!

This was the view from our table....
We made it home around 8. It was a great day out and about. This was the longest amount of time that we had taken Cale out away from the house. He did great! I am so glad that he is so laid back and just goes with the flow (except when it is just me and him in the car!). I must say that he did well on the car ride there and back. I guess it was because I was in the back with him!

Ouch....Shots!
Cale had his 2 month check up today (yes he is already 2 months old...I cant believe it). So that meant.....SHOTS!!!!! He was such a champ though. He cried during the actual shots, but afterwards he only whined for a few minutes and then he fell asleep. My mom met me there so that I didnt have to go alone. She was wonderful. She helped to hold him down because I just didnt think I could do it. The funny thing is that I find it quite ironic though because he cried more on the way to the doctor (and on the way home) than he did while he got shots....go figure!
I dont know what it is, but my boy does not like the car!!! But it only seems to be when it is just me and him in the car. I cant figure it out. If Bryan is with us, he is fine. But if it is just me (and I cant reach him) he screams bloody murder! I had to stop today on the way home because I couldnt take it any more. I pulled over at the fair grounds and gave him his binky and before I could get back on US1 he had spit it out. So I stopped one more time and put it back in....only this time, I folded up his blanket and put it under his chin so that he could not spit it out. He was asleep within a minute. I dont know what his deal is, but I think he is trying to give me a nervous break down. Shots are nothing compared to a ride in the car. I sure hope he grows out of this!!!!
On a good note, here are some pics of when we got home. Notice the Tazmanian Devil bandaides :) Oh I almost forgot.....He weighed 13 lbs 9 oz...he is a little pig... (90th percentile) and was 25 inches long (97th percentile....he is going to be tall like his daddy). I have a growing boy on my hands!!!!
